This past weekend, Aaron and I packed up the car and headed down to Zion National Park for a little adventure. Zion is my favorite NP in Utah because unlike some of the others, there are lots of water sources including beautiful waterfalls and streams. There is also a lot of greenery and shade from the beautiful trees. Aaron and I set up camp just a few miles from the entrance of the park. We had our tent, firewood, and dutch-oven. Life was good. An added perk was that the campsite had shower facilities and although Aaron considered this cheating, I was very happy. Our first day in the park, we hiked the Narrows. This is one of my favorite hikes because you get to go through water with massive canyon walls on all sides of you. The water level was fairly high and in some areas I was in water above my waist. Another reason this is one of my favorite hikes is because Aaron and I held hands the entire time. We helped keep one another balanced as we climbed over slippery rocks and waded our way through. This was a long hike that took most of the day. The following day we hiked Angel's Landing. This was a strenuous hike-about 1,488 feet straight up. Once you hike a few miles of sandstone you get to go up 21 switchbacks to Scout Point. From there you hike to the top. We only got to Scout Point. Watch the eHike to find out why we didn't go all the way. Later that day we hiked Outllook Point. It was a gorgeous hike and the rain form earlier in the day really cooled things off. Our last day in Zion we hiked Emerald Pools and Weeping Rock. Emerald Pools was amazing! We hiked to the upper, middle, and lower pools. Aaron and I were both fascinated by the lower pools. We got to hike right under three massive waterfalls. It was amazing! Overall the trip was AMAZING! We intend to go back as soon as we get the chance and hike all the trails we didn't get to.
