Merry Christmas

Dear Family & Friends,
Aaron and I are pleased to announce that we have made it through four months of marriage and love one another even more than as on the day we were married. Marriage is definitely an adventure and we are enjoying every minute of it. I have a favorite metaphor for marriage: a three-legged race. Someone once said, “Marriage is another word for “trust.” It is two people full of doubts, shortcomings, and love holding hands and jumping together. It is a three-legged race, where two people hop, stumble, get back up, and maybe hit a stride until they fall again. It’s funny, frustrating, and the wedding ring is a symbol for the rope tying two legs together.” Aaron and I definitely have days when we stumble but the fun is in the learning to stride together. I am training him to keep the toilet seat down and he is training me to relax about life’s unnecessary stressors. All and all, life is pretty wonderful and we are having fun learning and growing together.

Aaron is staying very busy with school and work. This will be his last semester on the BYU cheer squad. It has served as a great extracurricular activity that has taught him leadership skills that could have been gained nowhere else. I am keeping busy applying for teaching positions and working on freelance photography. We have also been working hard to organize our first home together. Aaron and I are blessed with a nice basement apartment, friendly neighbors, and the best university we could ever wish to attend, BYU…Go Cougars!

This Christmas Aaron and I have so much to be grateful for. We’re grateful for wonderful family and friends who love and support us. We’re grateful for each other and the life that we now share. We’re most grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and for all He has done for us. We wish for you, a very Merry Christmas and happy holiday season!

Love,
Aaron & Laurel
